‘Somebody around column’, 2019, ceramica, installazione 200x150x160(h)cm

Quando un ceramista realizza un vaso al tornio, sembra stia creando un piccolo universo nel lavorare un misterioso spazio vuoto. È un’azione che proviene da un tempo antico e giunge fino ai giorni nostri. È un agire trasversale che tocca tempi e luoghi diversi. Ho elaborato delle colonne in ceramica con la tecnica del tornio e questo mi ha consentito di creare degli spazi casuali. Sopra di esse ho posto per ognuna un busto di un personaggio proveniente da epoche diverse. Gli uomini nascono e muoiono in questo universo. Il loro corpo scompare con la morte, lasciando comunque qualche loro traccia che si collega al presente.

When a ceramist makes a vase on the potter’s wheel, it seems to me that he is creating a small universe in working a mysterious empty space. It is an action that comes from an ancient time and continues to the present day. It is a transversal action that touches historical times and different nations. I have created ceramic columns with the potter’s wheel technique and this has allowed me to create casual spaces. Above each top, I placed a bust of a character coming from different epochs.

Men are born and die in this universe and space.Their body disappears when they die, leaving some trace of them, which connects to the present.
